Marathon Tours & Travel has been named the official travel partner of the Cardiff Half Marathon from 2027, bringing dedicated travel and accommodation options to Wales’ largest mass participation event and the UK’s only SuperHalf.
The world’s leading marathon travel company will help runners from across the UK and around the world experience the race. The partnership covers participants travelling to Cardiff, with the aim of making the race weekend easier to plan.
The Cardiff Half has grown sharply in recent years, attracting more than 29,000 runners, including thousands from overseas. It is one of six races in the SuperHalfs Series, alongside Lisbon, Prague, Berlin, Copenhagen and Valencia, and has become a popular stop for runners completing the series.
Runners who already have a Cardiff Half place will be able to book accommodation through Marathon Tours & Travel. Anyone who misses out through the standard entry process can also get a place through the company’s travel packages, giving both UK and international runners another route into the event.

Marathon Tours & Travel was established in 1979 and is the official tour operator of the Abbott World Marathon Majors Series, as well as an official tour operator of the SuperHalfs Series. The company combines race entry, accommodation, sightseeing, race support and exclusive experiences for runners and supporters.
It also owns and operates its own destination races, including the Antarctica Marathon. Running News UK has already covered two of those events this year: an American runner winning the Madagascar Marathon at 68, and GB runners among a record Kangaroo Island turnout.
Matt Newman, chief executive at Run 4 Wales, said the Cardiff Half had developed into a truly international event, welcoming runners from all over the world to Cardiff and Wales.
“Being part of the SuperHalfs Series has been a fantastic addition to the race and has helped us connect with a global community of runners who are travelling across Europe to take on some of the world’s leading half marathons,” he said.
“We’re delighted to welcome Marathon Tours & Travel on board as our Official Travel Partner from 2027. Their expertise in running travel and their existing involvement with the SuperHalfs Series makes them a fantastic fit for the Cardiff Half.”
Newman added that the two organisations would work together to make it easier for runners from the UK and overseas to experience the race and the Welsh capital.
Brendan Fox, managing director of Marathon Tours & Travel, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the team at the Cardiff Half Marathon and helping bring runners from across the UK and around the world to Wales.
“It is an honour to be associated with such a prestigious event, and we look forward to working together to create a fantastic race weekend experience for every participant.”
